Dear colleagues, friends and fervent supporters of our project,

We have reached the end of the 7th Neurosurgical Masterclass: Vascular Neurosurgery. It was an honor and a privilege to have gathered together students from so many universities and also such great names in the field of neurosurgery to discuss this fascinating subject together.

Like with all such events and this Masterclass has been an outstanding example our minds have been awed by a torrent of ideas, information, statistics, interpretations and visions, and it will probably be a few days before the information can settle and conclusions can be drawn.

As we have heard over the past days, cerebrovascular diseases and conditions that afflict people today are broadly similar to those in decades past, but our understanding of them and of their treatment options are evolving. Just as it did 20 or 40 years ago, neurovascular surgery represents a top subspecialty, a difficult field that demands complete commitment from those who get acquainted with its highs and lows. We feel that it is never too early to start training the future generation of specialists if they are ever to achieve the level of experience of their mentors.

We are sure we have all benefited in some way from this Neurosurgical Masterclass. Numerous points of view have been outlined and many messages have been delivered, covering the whole spectrum of vascular neurosurgery as seen from the perspective of Professors of Neurosurgery, Specialists, Neurosurgical Residents and Medical Students.

Finally, we should like to thank our key-note-speakers for accepting our invitation – without their generosity and implication, the Masterclass wouldn’t have drawn such an impressive number of participants – and all of you who participated in this Masterclass Edition: your presence has been invaluable and, without any doubt, has helped make the event a great success.

We expect the event to grow and we wish to make it every year more interesting and challenging than the year before – so stay tuned.

We look forward to seeing you again in 2020, at 8th Neurosurgical Masterclass: Pediatric Neurosurgery.

Thank you!

Sincerely yours,
Prof. Dr. Ioan Ștefan Florian
Dr. Victor Volovici
Stud. Laura Popovici
